Walks around Bathford

Guided Walks by Cotswold Voluntary Wardens

There are many Public Rights of Way and other footpaths in, and passing through, the Parish that make excellent and interesting walking routes including long distance walking trails, such as the Palladian Way.

As an example of a short circular walk that takes in much of the fascinating history of both the urban and rural setting of the Parish the walk from the centre of the village, starting from the Community Shop and Café, is available here in PDF format

From time to time we will upload other walks here but there are various sources of very interesting guided and downloadable walks, especially those organised by the Cotswolds Voluntary Wardens for walks in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which includes Bathford.

Family Trail Walks

This Village Family Walking Trail Project has been set up by six women who live in Bathford. We wanted to share with families in the village things that we find interesting about living here, and to help make walking locally more fun! We have a diverse range of interests, which are reflected in the different emphasis given to individual mini- trails (nos. 1-6) which make up the whole perimeter walk. We hope that this diversity offers something for everyone as they walk around Bathford. So families can choose how much, or how little, of the trails and their activities they want to complete at any one time. We welcome comments and feedback so that we can develop the trails further.

We wish to acknowledge the work of G. Laurence (1985) Bathford Past and Present; David Howell and the Bathford Society at http://www.bathfordsociety.org.uk/:
