Bathford Parish Hall – Temporary Event Notices

  1. The regulations are now in force as of end of November 2005
  2. Bathford Parish Hall has a total of 12 TENS from a calendar year of January to December
  3. TENs are required:
    1. For the sale of alcohol
    2. Regulated entertainment – which means if they pay to watch it
  4. Instead of the old system of applying for a licence from the Magistrates Court, Hirers will now need to apply for a TEN from:
    1. Bath and NE Somerset: 01225-396719 (Direct Line)
or via the Website for a form (www.culture.gov.uk – culture – “alcohol and entertainment”
    2. Hirers need to apply a minimum of 10 working days before the event takes place
    3. Any queries can be answered by ANDREW JONES – Tel: 01225 477000
    4. The TEN will cost the Hirer £23.00
    5. Hirers please inform the Booking Secretary, (Monica Stockwell, Tel: 07591 277336 ) if you apply for a Temporary Event Notice.
  5. Note Hirers who require a TEN cannot have more than 96 hrs (4 days) in succession. One event to be used for not more than 96 hrs (4 days) at any one time.

  6. As an example take the case of the Bathford Players. They usually hire the Parish Hall for approximately 10 days but the TEN will only apply for the actual production days (not the other days which consist of setting up and rehearsals) which is when the public pay to use the Hall eg usually 3 days = 1 TEN. Therefore that would leave us with 11 TENs (from January to December).Click here for the management committee, here for the regulations governing use, here for the current charges and here for the timetable of regular events.
